So i pretty much have to say that i have the BEST BOYFRIEND... in the ENTIRE WORLD!! He loves me more than i've ever been loved before. Why ever set out to find Mr. Right when he's right in front of me? I've realized that i don't treat him with the respect that he deserves, and some how he always still loves me. I'm lucky. I'm really lucky. I don't deserve him but i'm damn sure going to cherish every moment i have with him. Just recently it hit me that if i don't treat him how he SHOULD be treated, then i COULD lose the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm going to be better! I sware it! Because i'm not going to risk losing him anymore!

To Matthew: i love you SOOOOO much! i'm sorry that i've taken you for granted for so long. i love you, i love you, i love you!! Thank you so much for loving me and thank you sooo much to the 2 dozen roses, i love them!!!

So i'm sitting in my geography class as we speak and i'm bored out of my mind! And then a topic comes to mind: Relationships.

I remember a while back when i was single and jealous of everyone who had a significant other and i was just here. I honestly prayed every night and/ or everytime it turned 11:11 i made a wish that i would soon find someone to be with like everyone else had found, some who i could trust, and have fun with, and maybe even love. I noticed that when a good friend gets into a intimate relationship, other friendship can or will start to take a turn for the best or the worst. Friends become jealous that there not in a relationship like you are or jealous that your not spending as much time together anymore and why? Because both realize that the one in the relationship has a new best friend in a way. When you have someone that you love, you love them with all your heart and you tell each other everything and in a way they do become your best friend. The reason that i'm writing about this today is because for the longest time i never understood why my relationships weren't going the way they used to but now that i'm in a mutual loving relationship i understand. So for all those people that try to fight their friends off and say " I don't choose my boyfriend over my friends!" well maybe you do, so what? who cares? maybe others don't understand, but you do, and they will one day when their in a relationship with the love of their lives.

The Paradox Of Our Times
  by George Carlin

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.

We've conquered outer space, but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.  We've split the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less.  We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships.

These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throw-away morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the show window and nothing in the stockroom; a time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

I think it's funny thinking about the phases that a first time college student goes through.  For the most part every first timer goes through pretty much the same thing.

Phase 1: Excitement, Joy, a Feeling of Freedom!!
-NO PARENTS!!
-
No rules
-Can stay out as late as you want, go to bed whenever you want!

Phase 2: party, Party, PARTY, and PARTY some more!!
- it's pretty much self explanitory, you party your ass off.... why? BECAUSE YOU CAN!!

Phase 3: I miss my friends, but... college is still really AWESOME!
- when you start to realize you DID have a life before college with really close friends and you had fun but IT'S STILL SO AWESOME!
- miss your friends is at a low, you miss them but your ok with it.

Phase 4: What now?
- you've done the partying, you've had your fun.... now what?

Phase 5: The Classic BREAK DOWN
- everything becomes overwhelming
- you miss your friends terribly
- don't know if you can do this anymore

Phase 6: Coping
- you learn to adjust
- everything starts to feel better
- you still miss your friends but you just learn to deal
- YOU LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT!

Subject:8 steps to letting your old life go and welcoming your new one: HIGH SCHOOL TO COLLEGE STYLE
Time:02:20 pm

Step One: Keeping in touch with the ones that TRULY love you

Keep in contact with all the people that mean the most to you, if they try as hard as you do to keep in touch with them then their worth going out of your way for and they to can become part of your new life.

Step Two: Start excepting losses

You might have to come to the realization that your best friends in high school might not want to be your best friends in college.

Step Three: Stay positive

College is a new beginning you might not stay in touch with all your friends from high school but college is a chance to start over! Take advantage of this opportunity to meet as many people as you can.

Step Four: Keep balance

Yes, college might be the best time of your life but don't forget about those that truly love you. Make sure that you keep a balance between your "old friends" that you want to share your new life with and your "new friends" that are beginning their transition into their new life too. Maybe even introduce them, remember you want to share it with them.

Step Five: Family is key

Who's putting you through college? For most it's probably your family so take a little time every now and then to say thank you. Let them know you still love them and you appreciate them.

Step Six: Set your priorities

Yes, you made it to college not prove to everyone that you can do it! Make school one of your main priorities, not saying ABSOLUTELY NO PARTYING, i'm saying do what you need to do and then you can have fun. Maybe limit the week day to school and no partying and weekends to do whatever you want.

Step Seven: Socialize and stay healthy

You really can do whatever you want now! You can watch as much TV as you want, eat whatever you want, shower when ever you want but don't get out of control. TV, you don't need to watch that much TV go do something fun with your new friends. Yes, you can eat whatever you want but you have to live with the consequences. Eat healthy, eat for yourself, i'm not saying no JUNK FOOD because i can't do it but limit your self make sure to have your fruits and vegetables as much as possible and limit your snacking. Also you can shower whenever you want but keep good hygiene do it for you and everyone else around.

Step Eight: Congratulations!

Give your self a pat on the back! You've successfully started your transition with open arms!

reality has pretty much become numb to me, it's intwined into my brain but i don't feel anything anymore. I will no longer get upset about the phone calls not returned or the "i'm doing more important things than you" aspects from others. What was once frusterating to me is now dead to me. i'm tired of going out of my way for others with no response. this whole collge experience has shown me the truth about others. it's cool i'm just glad i got the picture now.

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." -Alan Cohen
